An important part of TML is the work that the project is co-producing with Drummond and Castlebrae Community High Schools in Edinburgh. The video ‘Art in Translation’ shows the results of the collaborative project involving university researchers and school teachers and pupils. The project is about the different ways in which cultures move, and we use the idea of ‘translation’ to explore how people and things change as we cross borders. For us translation is all about creativity and imaginative adaptation. Art is a way of understanding what it means to follow an idea or image across different media, cultures, and languages. The art work produced by the pupils and the process of their translations have been inspirational. Huge thanks to everyone at Drummond and Castlebrae for their enthusiasm and input.
